Mabon Greetings
Greetings to you on this most welcome autumn equinox.
The time when the sun god begins to fall,
the grandmother begins to awake.
She will be coming, come Samhain, but for now she must fix her tea and check her herbs
and stare out her window,
wondering, wondering what work she will be called to do next.
We thank the Sun God for his rein on our happenings,
the long warm days, the spectacular glistenings off the lakes.
We put on our raggedies, our comfort clothes, the crisp edges will be stronger, the nights will come fast now. Our colors and oils and magic doth change, will change, bring change to match the season.
Greetings to you, oh kinfolk. May your three-quarter wheel see you fortified as you look over your stock, as you bring in the young ones to protect from the cold. May your cupboards be full and your writing pads thick. May you seek clarity as you prepare for the darkness and the mysteries she brings.
